What is RoyaumeFrance?
RoyaumeFrance is an evangelical initiative devoted to inflaming souls with love for Traditional French Catholicism and the Renaissance of Catholic France in total consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary and under the co-patronage of St. Jehanne d’Arc and Ste. Thérèse de l’Enfant Jésus.
There are absolutely no obligations, financial or otherwise. I am focused on inspiring souls in the spirit of Traditional French Catholicism. RoyaumeFrance is not an official apostolate and simply offers inspiration, not spiritual direction.
Where does RoyaumeFrance meet?
At the moment RoyaumeFrance is limited to virtual connections via Facebook. Please bookmark the RoyaumeFrance website. If you are interested in chartering an actual discussion group in your parish, please keep reading and see the suggestions below.
What does RoyaumeFrance do?
Foremost, RoyaumeFrance encourages others toward two official apostolates not associated with us, the first being Consecration to the Blessed Virgin Mary according to St. Louis de Montfort, and the second being the World Apostolate of Fatima. In addition Le Royaume encourages consecrated souls to devote themselves to the saintly and sisterly care of St. Joan of Arc and St. Thérèse of Lisieux. Above all we encourage others always to follow the counsel of their spiritual adviser and their conscious as properly formed through the teachings of the Magisterium of the Holy Catholic Church.
RoyaumeFrance then brings together these Marian consecrated, traditionally minded Catholics in a Jehannian/Thérèsian spirit for regular adoration of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament, the praying of the Rosary for the reign of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and discussions exploring such topics as: French Catholic spirituality, France as the “Eldest Daughter of the Church,” the plethora of French saints and devotions (such as True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin by St. Louis de Montfort or the Sacred Heart Devotion given to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque to mention only two), the restoration of the French Catholic Monarchy, the French counter-revolution with its 18th century heroes of the Catholic and Royal Army of the Vendée, and even the implementation of a Catholic Monarchy in the United States in order to resurrect a cultural spirit of Christendom in the West.
What is different about RoyaumeFrance from any other Catholic association?
After first being consecrated to the Virgin Mary and putting themselves under the saintly and sisterly care of St. Joan of Arc and St. Thérèse of Lisieux, the participant in RoyaumeFrance devotes him or herself to regular Eucharistic adoration in union with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, particularly by praying the rosary. He or she then enthusiastically pursues a focused but comprehensive intellectual and spiritual experience in a Catholic charism often overlooked in the modern world: Traditional French Catholicism.
A “Fils ou Fille du Royaume” (son or daughter of the Kingdom) seeks to understand the French Catholic experience as a catechesis in the Faith, from the baptism of the first Frankish King, Clovis, in the late 5th century to the executions of King Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette in the French Revolution of the 18th century. Though the Church is universal and her own norm, not relying on any one culture or historical experience to define her, we feel a particular attraction to Traditional French Catholicism that leads us to the Sacred Heart of Jesus (St. Margaret Mary Alacoque), through True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary (St. Louis de Montfort) and in the sisterly care of St. Thérèse of Lisieux and St. Joan of Arc.
Traditionally minded and obedient to our Holy Father, the Pope in Rome and the Magisterium of the Church in all her councils (including Vatican II), we are resilient in our defense of the Church from the attacks of Modernism, which is the sum of all heresies (Pope St. Pius X). We likewise are resilient in our defense of the Church from schisms and schismatic thinking brought by traditionalists who, while being rightfully disgusted by the modernist heresies running rampant in the Church today, play right into the hands of these modernist enemies by abandoning the Church and leaving her undefended. RoyaumeFrance, in the spirit of l’Abbé George de Nantes, avoids both heresy and schism in its traditional-mindedness (“neither schism nor heresy” – the Catholic Counter-Reformation).
In addition to renewing our own hearts in Jesus through Mary under the saintly care of Sts. Joan and Thérèse, we seek the renaissance of Catholic France under the restoration of her légitimiste Monarchy, the restoration of the cultural spirit of Christendom throughout the West, and even the possibility of a Catholic Monarch for the United States as a remedy for America’s dire spiritual illness.
Thus, RoyaumeFrance seeks to be a comprehensive spiritual experience grounded in one of the most important developments in human history, that is, France as the Eldest Daughter of the Church.
RoyaumeFrance does not assume Traditional French Catholicism to be normative for the Church as a whole nor superior to any other focused interest. On the contrary, our interest in French Catholic spirituality leads us to appreciate the richness of cultural expression throughout the universal Church. The more we love Le Royaume de France, the more we come to appreciate the unique roles other cultures play in the Church and what the Church does in uniting us all as a family in the Faith.
Who represents our target audience?
RoyaumeFrance is targeted toward faithful, traditionally-minded Catholics loyal to our Holy Father, the Pope in Rome, and the Magisterium of the Church who desire to grow in understanding of Traditional French Catholicism and in devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Immaculate Heart of Mary, and the long line of French saints including Thérèse of Lisieux and Joan of Arc. RoyaumeFrance is inclusive in the sense that we welcome the support and friendship of all those outside the Church who share these interests.
What is RoyaumeFrance’s immediate goal?
RoyaumeFrance’s immediate goal is to inspire multitudes of souls to begin regular Eucharistic Adoration, to consecrate their lives to the Blessed Virgin Mary, to join the World Apostolate of Fatima, and to devote themselves to the saintly, sisterly care of Ste. Jehanne d’Arc and Ste. Thérèse de l’Enfant Jésus. From there the goal is to establish grass roots enthusiasm for Traditional French Catholicism and the Renaissance of Catholic France with the ultimate objective of becoming established physically in local parishes where there is sufficient interest.
What might RoyaumeFrances’s parish groups look like in the future?
Local interest groups might get together for friendship, coffee, meals, or other social arrangements to share enthusiasm for Traditional French Catholic Spirituality and the Renaissance of Catholic France. In addition to traditional Catholic activities such as Eucharistic Adoration, praying the Rosary, and studying the scriptures with the catechism, suggested activities would be:
- Book/Reading clubs on such subjects as French Catholic spirituality (Ste. Thérèse, Ste. Jehanne d’Arc, St. Francis de Sales, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque and the Sacred Heart Devotion, St. Louis de Montfort and True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin…etc.) or French History, or the study of French Royal families, or the relationship between the Church and France, or Catholic prophecy and France…etc.
- Guest speakers to bring us expertise in French Catholicism.
- Presentations and talks shared by members with specific interests and who have researched a topic.
- Writing and poetry workshops where members might share their insights and support each other in our own writing, blogging, and publishing.
- Field trips when applicable to visit churches, museums, galleries, cultural events…etc.
- French language skill development by establishing teams (beginner, intermediate, advanced) who might journey together through a French language program and who might recommend specific website programs that would facilitate our learning the language.
- Movie nights when we can enjoy classic films related to our interests.
I’m ready! What do I do now?
Follow the three steps of RoyaumeFrance:
Seek the Kingdom
- Consecrate yourself completely and without reserve to the Blessed Virgin Mary according to the method of St. Louis de Montfort (the consecration of St. Maximilian Kolbe in the Militia Immaculata is virtually the same thing and is equally honored by the Church).
- Begin regular (daily, weekly) Eucharistic Adoration in union with the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
- Join the World Apostolate of Fatima to help bring about the reign of the Immaculate Heart of Mary.
Love the Kingdom
- Devote yourself to the beautiful combined spirituality of Ste. Thérèse and Ste. Jehanne d’Arc.
- Also consider joining the Confraternity of St. Joan of Arc.
Defend the Kingdom
- Familiarize yourself with The Counterrevolutionary and Royal Army of America.
- Become a counterrevolutionary in the Counterrevolutionary and Royal Army of America.
